Welbec done deal to Arsenal

The England international is set to
complete his move to the Emirates,
having been told he could leave the club by new manager Louis van Gaal
By Wayne Veysey
Arsenal have agreed a €20 million
fee for Danny Welbeck, arsenal wiki
understands.
The Gunners have settled on a deal
with Manchester United in the last
few minutes and the England
international has been given
permission to discuss personal terms
and undergo a medical with the
club.
The striker is set to be offered a
four-year contract with the option of
a fifth year worth €120,000-a-week.
Arsene Wenger sanctioned a
sensational late bid for Welbeck
after failing to capture Radamel
Falcao and Loic Remy over the last
48 hours.
The Gunners are now set to be
successful in snatching Welbeck from under the noses of Tottenham, who
were in advanced discussions to sign him on loan.
Wiki understands that conversations
with United on deadline day had
centred on Arsenal trying to convince
the 20-times Premier League
champions to release Welbeck on a
permanent deal rather than on loan.
It is believed that Arsenal had
initially offered €16.5m for the
forward and United had demanded
€23m but the two clubs have now
settled on a €20m move, though
United are refusing to sanction his
exit until they have completed the
loan signing of Radamel Falcao from
Monaco.
Welbeck, who trained with England
at Arsenal's London Colney
headquarters on Monday, had been
on standby this evening to undergo
a medical at the centre and has now
been given permission to do so.

Sagna Rejects Inter Move, Wants To Stay In The Premier League

Bacary Sagna is out of contract this summer and has failed to reach a negotiation with Arsenal over a new deal. He is demanding a 3-year contract worth at least £90,000 per week as a reward for his loyalty towards the London giants, as he has remained at the club while other big names have left for greener pastures.
The Gunners however are skeptical about meeting his demands, and are willing to offer the 31- year old just a 2-year deal worth £80,000 per week. Arsenal are keen to extend his stay, but there were strong reports which expected him to run down his current deal and walk away as a free agent in the summer. There were initial talks held with the likes of Inter Milan over a switch to the San Siro ahead of next season, as the club’s new president Erick Thohir looks to flex his financial muscle and oversee a major overhaul of the team.
They have already agreed a deal for Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic, and want to sign Sagna too; however ESPNFC now report that Thohir spoke to the media where he revealed that Sagna has rejected Inter’s offer, and is looking to remain in England. Speaking about the matter, Thohir said, “Sagna has decided to stay in the Premier League”.
Though it’s a statement which should give some relief to Arsenal fans, you still cannot rule out a possible Sagna move to either Chelsea or Manchester City, who are also understood to be interested in him.

Striker (MICHY BATSHUAYI) confirms he wants summer move to Arsenal

Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi has opened the door for a summer move to Arsenal.
Batshuayi has netted 19 goals in 34 appearances for his club this season and is hotly tipped for a move to one of Europe’s top leagues at the end of the campaign.
Boss Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of his ability and is reportedly planning to make a big move this summer, as he looks to add a bit more fire-power to his squad.
And the 20-year-old has fuelled speculation of a switch by revealing his desire to play in England, with the Emirates his preferred destination.
He admitted: “Unfortunately I do not think I’ll stay [at Standard past the summer.
“Many things can happen but I am someone who has ambitions. I want to progress as quickly as possible. I’ll make a choice with my agents and my family. I must consider my choices carefully.
“I have not yet signed anywhere yet.
“I am interested in the German and English championships. They are physical and technical championships.

Top Belgian striker in`come and get me` plea to Arsenal

With all the turmoil and speculation regarding the future Arsenal career of French striker Olivier Giroud, as well as the definite departure of bad boy Nicklas Bendtner, it seems as though Arsene Wenger is going to need to sign at least two new strikers in the summer transfer window.
Like all Arsenal fans, I am hoping that at least one of them will be a well established world class player, like Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani. But I would not be at all surprised if the other was a promising young striker that Wenger could develop into a top class one.
And there is one of these who seems desperate to come to the Emirates this summer, as reported by Sky Sports. His name is Michy Batshuayi and, despite being just 20-years old, he is the leading scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, with 18 goals for Standard Liege. And Batshuayi has made no secret of his desire to move from Belgium to a better league, with the English Premier League and German Bundesliga being his preferred destinations.
He said, “I don’t think I will play for Standard next season.
“I want to move on. Maybe I will think about a longer stay if we play in the Champions League, but I want to progress as a player.
“My preferred destinations are England or Germany. If you ask my favourite team, I’ll say Arsenal.
“It is a club with a good philosophy, where youngsters get their chance. I’ve been an Arsenal fan since I was a kid.”
I don’t think it is just Arsenal, but the reputation of Arsene Wenger that causes the likes of Batshuayi and his compatriot Christian Benteke to want to come to the Emirates to play. Hopefully this, as well as the massive transfer kitty the club is supposed to have, could mean that Gooners finally have a proper summer of transfer activity to enjoy.

ARSENAL TO BLOCK SALE OF THOMAS VERMAELEN TO MAN CITY

Hands up out there how many Arsenal fans are sick to the back teeth of Arsenal selling their best players to their direct Premier League rivals. That’s everyone then, yeah? So Arsene Wenger and the club must draw a line under it now and refuse to sanction the sale of Thomas Vermaelen to Man City.
The current Arsenal captain may not fall into that best player category, because the Belgian has found it impossible to break the pairing of Koscielny and Mertesacker, but he is still a top class defender and would certainly strengthen City’s slightly shaky defence.
Metro reports that Manuel Pellegrini has identified the Arsenal man as the ideal player to partner Kompany at the back and we must not let it happen. Arsenal do not have to sell the Verminator because he has a good few years left on his contract, so Wenger must tell him he cannot join a rival.
If Vermaelen is so determined to leave the Gunners to get more playing time, he can go anywhere he wants except England. Anyway, knowing City they will probably buy three of the world’s most expensive defenders in the world and Vermaelen will still end up on the bench.
I would love it if our captain changes his mind and decides to stick with Arsenal, but it seems unlikely. The next best thing is to make sure he is not playing against us in the Premier League next season.
