Arsenal vs. Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League is being
billed as the most expensive game in Premier league history, and not
just because of the quality in both teams. Both London sides have
contested in a number of memorable matches in recent years, with games
in European competition and significant duels in title races pointing to
the height that each team have reached over the past decade.
But Chelsea are a new-look side this weekend and they won’t be able
to call upon Didier Drogba, a striker who has caused Arsenal plenty of
misery during his time at Stamford Bridge. What about Theo Walcott and
his good scoring record against Chelsea in recent years? Surely
something for Arsene Wenger to think about.
The recent history of matches between both teams suggest that this
weekend’s game should be another memorable tie, perhaps once again with
goals from unlikely sources. How about another left-back getting among
the goals?
