Late March and the transfer rumours are doing their rounds once again
and today Arsenal are being linked with Croatian starlet Mateo Kovacic.
The Inter Milan star may still be a young talent with a lot of
development still ahead of him as a player, however according to the Daily Express he could be one of Arsene Wenger’s top summer targets for Arsenal.
The report goes on to suggest that Arsenal could be joined in the
race by fellow Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United in the
battle for the youngster, however I think Arsenal stand a major chance
in this deal, providing there is some truth behind it.
Arsenal are known for being linked with young players and then
building them into top class talents, and although the mould seemed to
have broken slightly with the signing of several experienced players
including Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski and Mertesacker, Arsenal no doubt
still look to future talent in a bid for success.
Kovacic is one of the worlds best in his position as deep lying
playmaker for both talent and age and I’m sure that he would be another
good young signing for the Gunners. Holding bags of midfield talent and
available for a reasonable price of around £9 million, Kovacic could be
our teenage target for the summer and consequently I wouldn’t be too
surprised if this was a deal that went some way towards building for the
future.
